There are currently four publications that provide access to Fairfax's poetry in print. In date order, they are: Clements Markham's Life of the Great Lord Fairfax (1870); Edward Bliss Reed's edition of The Poems of Thomas Fairfax (1909); M. A. Gibb's The Lord General a Life of Thomas Fairfax (1938); and Alastair Fowler's The Country House Poem: Cabinet of Seventeenth-century Estate Poems and Related Items.
List of the ten poems included in Appendix A.
A larger collection of Fairfax's poems from MS Fairfax 40, but still a limited selection. It includes only four of Fairfax's 150 Psalms, which reflects the secondary status often assigned to such works.
