Modernized Text

Give glory to the Lord, ye sons of might;
Give to his name the due deservéd praise
That is in holiness with beauty dight,
Whose voice is heard on the impetuous seas.
His glory further yet to us appears
When as his thunders reacheth to our ears.

Thy voice, oh Lord, is full of might and power;
With majestic state it terrors brings;
It breakes the cedars' tops that lofty tower;
With it Lebanon, that thick forest, rings
And makes the sinewy roots like calves to skip;
Like unicorns Lebanon and Sirion leap.

Thy voice, oh Lord, sends flames out of the skies;
It shaketh Kadesh with the thickest woods;
Hinds calve with fear; forests discovered lies.
Thy throne is set upon the swelling floods.
In thy temple sits there as king forever:
Thy people bless, and praise thee they'll endeavour.
